11 Mar 2010 : Whitsun JUNIOR cricket courses with Performance Cricket
These will run from Tuesday 1st June to Friday 4th June. All sessions will take place at Purley on Thames CC
from 10am – 3pm each day.

Below is a summary of the courses planned for the week:
Course One: Junior Cricket Development Course
Tuesday 1st June and Wednesday 2nd June(2 days with 1 group), 10am – 3pm.
Cost: £30 per day or £55 for both days.
Ages: 7 – 10 year olds, beginners and soft ball players.

Course Two: Specialist Cricket Development Course
Thursday 3rd June and Friday 4th June(2 days with 1 group), 10am – 3pm
Cost: £30 per day or £55 for both days.
Ages: 11 – 15 years, club, district and county players comfortable with a hard ball.

09 Mar 2010 : Snail Race Night, Saturday 27th March
Come along to the Cricket Club Snail Race night on Saturday 27th March in the Sports and Social Club at the ground - 7.30 for 8pm first "slide".

All proceeds to the Cricket Club to support cricket activity.

There are also still opportunities to sponsor :
• The Whole Event (£100)
• A race (£30)
or
• A Snail(£5)

09 Mar 2010 : "Be Involved"
We are URGENTLY looking for volunteers to take on the following list of "tasks" and would be very grateful if you could contact Martin Bishop on 01189 453117 or martin.bishop@bt.com if you may be interested in assisting with the below list, or helping in any other way

Web Site Designer /administrator – To work with relevant officers within the club to keep the web site updated, and to share relevant information with the members of the club. Input team results on to the website. Also, to research new initiatives for updating on the web site.

Assistant Junior Coaches / Helpers – To work with groups of children of different ages, and gender, to help them learn and develop their cricket skills and knowledge. Training courses are available, paid for by Club.

Assistant Grounds Men/Women – To add to the team of current volunteers to provide high quality cricket pitches for the players within the club, from 1st XI to the junior players within the Club. To assist in the preparation, watering and rolling of cricket pitches, and outfield, during the season.

Officials – To officiate within the club as umpires or scorers - joining in the fun at Kwik Cricket events, 20/20 matches or adult /junior matches.

Primary/JuniorSchools Cricket Liaison – To provide the link between the club and local schools cricket, facilitating school/club links.

Sponsorship – To develop Club Sponsorship packages, publish and gain sponsorship support from local businesses and individuals. Manage sponsorship relationships ongoing.

Fundraising & Social Event Co-ordinator / Helpers - Work to develop a diary of events for the club each year & implement a fundraising & social calendar of events. Form a sub-committee/list of helpers to run/manage the events. Including: 100 Club, Registration Evening (s), & Club Clothing Sale, Presentation Evening etc.

Registration for Junior Training nights – A volunteer for each junior age group to take the register at training

Outdoor training sessions commence from April 12th 2010, and take place to end of August 2010, as follows:

Monday 6.30 to 8 : Under 17s & Under 15 Pumas

Tuesday 6.30 to 7.30 : Starters (6 to 8 year olds)
Tuesday 6.30 to 7.45 : Under 9s and Under 11s

Wednesday 6.30 to 7.45 : Under 13s & Under 15 Panthers

Thursday 6 to 8 : Adults


The nets are available for you to use at any time (barring when being used for organised sessions) - members have priority over public!
