Change to how you pay junior cricket membership fees

02 Apr 2026

Dear parent/guardian

This year we are making a change to how we ask you to pay for your junior cricket membership fees.

As you may be aware, we have held our membership fees at the same level for a number of years. However, the costs for running the cricket club, including the junior section, are increasing significantly.

Happily, this year, we will be able to offset some of this increase by asking you to ‘donate’ a portion of the junior membership fee to the Good Exchange, which will match your ‘donations’ with additional funding.

The Good Exchange is a reputable organisation that helps local not-for-profit organisations like our cricket club raise money. We have used it on a number of occasions to fund expenditure such as the ride-on mower etc.

How it works:

Each family with a junior cricketer will donate around £20 to the Good Exchange (we will confirm the exact amount in a separate email). This will count towards the cost of the junior membership.

You will transfer the remainder of your membership fee to the Purley on Thames bank account.

The Good Exchange will collect ~ £2,000 from donations into this fund. The Good Exchange will then match fund these donations.

Purley on Thames CC will receive ~ £4,000 from the Good Exchange (your donations + match funding).

This means that we will have raised another £2,000 to support cricket at the club.

Please DO NOT DO THIS YET!

We will provide you with the link to donate to the correct fund and specify the amount when we send out your membership renewal/sign-up confirmation email (when we confirm your place and ask you for your membership fee).

Although this introduces an extra step into the process, we hope you agree that this is a valuable source of funding for the cricket club.

Kind regards

Purley on Thames Cricket Club Committee
