Match report I asked for a much improved performance from Monday night and the boys responded magnificently. This was a very good win against a good side. Slough won the toss and chose to bat. Some excellent early bowling from Connor (2-12 from 4 overs) and Max (0-9 from 3 overs) put some early pressure on them. They started to find the boundary ropes fairly regularly in the middle of the innings, but we stuck at it, and the bowling and fielding was much better than Monday night. We took three good catches (2 from Max and one from James M), and an excellent stumping by Rawdie, and they finished with 114-4 off 20 overs. Max got us off to a flyer, and we had 24 from the first 3 overs. However, once Max went for 22 they had a good 5 over spell where we only scored a handful of runs and fell behind the run rate, but we didn't lose a wicket! Connor and James D batted very well, and started to push the score along between 10-14 overs. Connor made 18 before being bowled to a good ball, but James D went on to make his 30 and retired. James M (7), Jake (4), and Rawdie (9no) helped us across the finishing line, with Rawdie hitting the winning runs with a 4 from the first ball of the last over. A good game, and an excellent performance from the boys, which is likely to now take us through to the knockout stages. With Sonning conceding our last league game this Sunday we have now completed our league programme, and can take much confidence into the knockout stages as have won 6 and lost 1. Well done to all the boys that have played for me this season so far.
