Match report An excellent start to the season for the Purley Kites starting with a win at Newbury. Captain Archie Danbury won the toss and decided to bowl on a green damp wicket that looked like it would keep low. A magnificent opening bowling spell by Arjun Mather and James Rogers which was complemented all the way through the innings by the all the bowlers bowling Newbury out for 33 with only 9 runs coming off the bat. Best performances Charlie Wheeler 3 Wickets for 0 runs, Arjun Mather 2 Wickets for 4 runs, Jordan Murray Robertson 2 Wickets for 9 runs and Sophie and Josh castle both chipping in with one each. Batting, we lost Jordan early who was a bit unlucky and proceeded to cruise to victory in 7.2 overs. A great team performance with everyone contributing to our first professional win of the year, well done to Archie for working so hard as Captain but we still have lots of areas we need to work on, well done Purley Kites.
