Match report Some hard work in the field and another brillant batting display got 2nds captain Peter Rackley out of trouble after winning the toss and asking Slough to bat,which for most of the afternoon was looking the wrong decision.The quartet of bowlers bowled tight lines throughout backed up by some excellent fielding.Robbie Jeffery and Vikram Kamath took 3 wickets apiece and Cyril cox took a wicket on his return to the 2nds,although Jordan Seward never got a wicket he produced his best bowling of the season.The wickets were completed with two run outs from Andrew and George Clarke who's attitude in the field was superb throughout.Slough scored 237 for 9 in their 52 overs.The Purley reply did not start well with Gautham Kamath out first ball,but Peter Rackley and Chris Priestley steadied the ship with a stand of 54 before the skipper was out for 24.Kevin Denton soon followed,robbie came in to join Chris and they added 92 for the 4th wicket before Chris Priestley was out for a outstanding 109.Not a bad start to his Purley career with scores of 109 and 72 in his first 3 games.Robbie was joined by Steve Purser to put together another match winning stand of 69 to ease Purley through to 239 for 4 from 43 overs.Robbie finished on 69 n/o and Steve 23 n/o,these two have batted brillantly over the last 3 weeks putting together stands of 135,115 and 69.An outstanding performance from the team with all 11 players contributing and the most relieved man,the captain.
