Match report Purley travelled to Windsor in their latest match with an inexperienced and young team and in the shadow of the castle lost an important toss and were inserted to bat first on a wet wicket. Gautham Kamath and Chris Priestley put on 11 for the first wicket before Gautham was bowled by Dean Bean for 11. Kieran Barrett then became the first of Jay Ganapathys six wickets when he was caught at point for 3. Only Mridul Mathur showed some resistance and hit the only boundary of the day with a cultured shot to the long on boundary. Purley on Thames were eventually all out for just 62 runs off 34 overs. The Purley skipper, Barry Carter opted to use the old ball and opened with young leg spinner George Clarke and the slow, medium variety of his own. They restricted Windsor to just 21 for 0 off 15 overs. Purley finally got some reward when George Wheeler had Huggins brilliantly caught behind by Andrew Clarke but it was too late and Windsor won by nine wickets having taken 31.1 overs to accumulate them.
