Match report A disappointing defeat for the 3rds today. We fielded a team with 2 under 17's and 3 under 15's. The skipper won the toss (for once!) and elected to bat on a hard looking wicket. Pahi went for 1, and 14year old Max Baker-Smith came to the wicket and played excellently again. Max and the skipper put on 57 for the 2nd wicket until Max was out for 17. The skipper (29) and Pat (3) quickly followed, to leave two 15year olds at the crease. Rob Clarke (23) and Rob Haggis (3) put on 18, before the wickets fell in quick succession. Only a quick 17 from Nufail helped us to 134 all out. In reply Harry bowled their opener early, but then a 2nd wicket partnership of 72 took the game away from us. Jeff Hinds (3-23) helped us to get 5 wickets but their other opener hit a match-winning 56 not out including one massive 6 that cleared the Ibis building. We will need to get back on track next week away to Crown Wood to keep our 2nd place in the table.
