Match report Oh how nice it was to play cricket on a hot, sunny day!
The Potters enteratained Kew 2's on the last match of the first half of the season. The skipper lost the toss and Kew elected to bat first. All of the Potters bowlers bowled with excellent discipline and effort and matched with some good fielding we probably produced our best bowling display of the year. The skipper managed to record his best ever bowling figures of 10 overs 7 for 35 which helped restrict the Kew total. To everyones surprise the Kew skipper decided to declare at 212 for 9 after 51 overs, on a Purley road and a quick outfield this never seemed enough.
The Purley reply started shaky with both openers pretty soon back into the hutch. the in form Tank then came to the crease and played a excellently well paced innings. Throughout the innings he was well supported by Dan, Lemar, Robbie, Caleb and Rackers who all chipped in. The Potters seemed slightly behind with 10 overs to go but as the Tank moved through the gears we eventually ended up winning in the 47th over with 4 wickets remaining.
Excellent win by the Potters and that's now 2 in a row!!!
