Match report Purley entertained Sulhamstead in a friendly game at the Goosecroft. Sulhamstead won the toss and chose to bat first. The new ball was taken by Thomas Axson and James Mugford and both bowled impressively. Sulhamstead struggled to score throughout the innings with Purley using 9 new bowlers in total with everyone contributing to a disciplined bowling performance. The wickets were shared around with Pete 2, Patrick 2 and Errol, Reebs, Chris and Robbie all getting 1 wicket. There was also a impressive run out from Chris Rackley who hit the stumps direct after swooping in from cover. Sulhamstead were all out after 36 overs, scoring 133.
The Purley reply was confident and steady, Robbie and Pete putting on 93 for the 1st wicket. Robbie was eventually out for 53. Then Pete and Chris saw us home in the 27th over. Pete scoring a composed 53* and Chris 16*.
Good display by everyone with all of the youngsters impressing!
