Match report Newbury were the visitors to the Goosecroft for this weeks TVL fixture. It was a baking hot day and the wicket was very hard and bouncy. The Potters skipper won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first.
The Potters got off to a typically bad start as both openers were back in the hutch early. Robbie soon followed before the skipper and Joe Greenidge responded with counter attacking knocks. The skipper was out for 26 and Joe 30. Further resistance came in the shape of an excellent knock of 39 from Lemar and George Wheeler 37. In the end the Potters were all out in 45 overs for 188.
After a lovely tea, Newbury started the chase of 188 from 55 overs.
The Potters came out with all guns blazing with Robbie and Caleb taking early wickets. All the bowlers created pressure and wickets were taken at regular intervals. The last wicket was taken by caleb in the 30th over to leave Newbury all out for 116.
A massive 25 point win and 2 wins in a row. Lets make it 3 next week!
