Match report An injury hit Purley on Thames Saturday 2nd XI travelled to Harefield which has not been a lucky ground in the past and the trend continued as we slipped to a 120 run loss that was our first in seven. Harefield 3s won the toss and elected to bat and were soon scoring freely but a juggled catch by Jameel Khan at mid-wicket slowed the pace and some tight bowling by Barry Carter and Jameel Khan reduced Harefield to 149 for 6 but a good 79 not out by Neil Woodman saw Harefield to 222 for 7 from their 52 overs. After devouring one of the best teas in the league Purley started well but when skipper, James Measham was bowled for 13 it spelled the beginning of the end. Pete Rackley batted well before he was 8th out for 43 as we slumped from 55 for 4 to 102 all out. A great team effort in the circumstances.
