Match report The latest road trip took Purley on Thames 2s to high flying Stoke Green 2s. Stoke Green won the toss and elected to bat. This decision looked to have backfired as Raj Senniappan bowled T.Gilham first ball of the innings and then in the second over Clive Bourne was well caught by 'keeper, Andrew Clarke off Cyril Cox to leave them 6 for 2. Desai and Sheikh then set about the bowling and put on 114 for the third wicket when Andrew Clarke took a steepler at square leg off Jameel Khan for 70. Andrew Clarke took another smart catch off Barry Carter to finally remove him for 68. A few big hits by Gilly Khan enabled Stoke Green to declare on 253 for 5 off 45 overs. Pete Rackley and James Measham made a good start but when both were out with the score on 49 it was backs to the wall. Andrew Clarke batted superbly to cap a brilliant day with 79 and apart from Zameers quick 26 we crumbled to 201 all out in 53.5 overs and a defeat by 52 runs.
