Match report The Potters travelled to Datchet for their Village Cup tie. The Potters won the toss and chose to field first. The wicket looked good and the boundaries were tiny at one end and towards the clubhouse.
Some good bowling early on by Robbie and Cyril was about the only highlight for the Potters in the Datchet innings. A century from Tim Alldis (139) and Eswar Krishnamurthy (117) did the damage as the ball was flying over the road, into the houses..... everywhere! In the end Datchet scored 348 for 5 from their 40 overs.
The Potters were up against a stiff target and only a quick start would do! The skipper hit a quick 25 but was removed in 6th over before a collapse left the Potters 50 for 6. The Clarke brothers, Andrew and Goerge then set about rebuilding the innings. They put on a excellent 91 for the 7th wicket to bring some respectability to the game. Nev scored his career best 75 not out.
The Potters lost by 181 runs to end this years participation in the Cup.
A tough game that was always going to be tough with Datchet fielding close to a 1st XI.
