Match report Purley won the inaugural West Berkshire Cup after a tense final against Compton played at Thatcham. Compton won the toss and elected to bat. The early bowlers kept things tight, the first wicket falling at 31 in the tenth over. Compton then threatened to break away until Rohan Wijeratne (2-23) and Jamie Elliott (3-14) took wickets to restrict the opponents to 88 for 6 in their 20 overs.

After losing two early wickets it fell to Rohan (38 not out) and Chris Rackley (42 not out)to rebuild the innings which they did patiently and efficiently with an unbroken partnership of 85 runs to see Purley home with 11 balls to spare.

Rohan was awarded man-of-the-match by competition sponsors Serious Cricket.
