Match report Purley on Thames 1st X1 registered there 2nd win in 3 weeks with an impressive win over Royal Ascot 1st X1. Reber won the toss and elected to bat first on a hot day at the goosecroft. The pitch offered some assistance to the ascot bowlers and the potters found themselves 77-5. Reber held the innings together with a determined 63 and had good support from Sanford, Thava and Baker-Smith who all contributed to the excellent total of 200 all out in the last over of the innings.

The potters got off to a great start as Rees and Maycock did early damage to the Ascot innings and reduced them to 13-3. The potters attack showed excellent discipline throughout the innings with Maycock,Rees and Thava all in the wickets. Patrick Allen was the pick of the bowlers and continued his excellent form with the ball taking 4-13 from his 10 overs. Some late resistance from the ascot tail could not stop the potters winning by 85 runs. Sanford had a good day behind the stumps taking 3 excellent catches. The purley attack bowled 19 maiden overs in the innings.

Super win and the boys are gathering momentum to take into the second half of the season. 'go on lads!'.
