Hello!
We’re so pleased that so many girls are playing cricket at Purley on Thames Cricket Club this year.
We’ve seen a large increase in the number of girls playing cricket for the club over the last two years. Last year, we ended the season with 14 girls in the combined U9 and U11 group, having started the year with just six.
This year, we started with 14 in this age group and we have now grown to 21 girls. We’re still getting emails asking if girls can come and join Purley this season and next year looks like we'll have a strong squad as well.
It’s brilliant that so many girls are enjoying their cricket and the friendships that they’re making with their teammates. We’d like to be able to offer this to as many girls as we can.
But to do this we need your help. We need volunteers to help at training sessions as we need more adults to support the coaches.
What do you need?
-
To want to support girls to play cricket and have fun
-
A willingness to get stuck in
-
A pair of trainers and some sports clothes
-
A DBS check done through the ECB (existing ones with school etc aren't valid), but we’ll organise and pay for it.
You don’t need
If you can help, please talk to one of the coaches on Friday nights, or email Fiona Salvage fionasalvage@me.com to discuss how you can get involved.
Many thanks
Fiona
