Club fundraising plan 2023-25

The cricket club has an ambitious fundraising target for 2023-25: we want to raise £50,000 through grants and club activities to support our plans to refurbish the nets in the Lower Goosecroft and create a fund to support the club’s development plan to improve training and playing opportunities for all members.

We know that times are tough for many so we want to provide a range of fundraising opportunities and activities across the year for every club member to get involved by attending, donating or volunteering in whatever way they can.

We’ll also continue to apply for cricket-only and community grants and funding wherever possible to supplement our fundraising activities.

What you can do

Buy a lottery ticket

  • Purchasing a ticket(s) in the West Berkshire Lottery supports the club, as well as providing you with the opportunity to win a weekly prize and special prize draws. All supporters get the chance to win prizes of up to £25,000 for just £1 per week. The club receives 50% of the revenue from tickets purchased.

Volunteer your time

  • To help raise the money we need to achieve our plans, we’ll need extra volunteers from time to time to help - just giving what time you can offer. You might support planning an event, running a BBQ one evening, or organising raffle prizes from local businesses.
  • We’re particularly keen to find some volunteers to co-run a pre-loved club clothing and kit shop. We know that juniors often grow out of their kit before it wears out and that kit can be expensive new. A pre-loved kit shop will have the dual benefit of keeping costs low for families as well as raising funds for the club.

Attend an event

  • To make our fundraising activities a success, we’ll need people to attend!
  • We don’t expect you to attend every event, but we’d love to see you whenever you can join us.
  • And if you can’t come, you can help promote the event by sharing on social media, telling friends and family or distributing flyers.

Sponsorship

We’d love to hear from you, whatever support you can give. Email purleyonthamescc@hotmail.co.uk to register your interest to help with fundraising or to share your ideas with us.

Fundraising for summer coaching for women's and girls' cricket

We are pleased to announce that our fundraising project with The Good Exchange to provide professional cricket coaching to support our women's and girls' teams throughout the 2023 season has been successful.
We're enormously grateful to everyone who donated, big or small, and to Greenham Trust Ltd for its match funding and grant.
