Match report Another excellent win for Purley on Thames against Falkland which just shows how professional the boys are and how clinical their cricket has become ! Connor lost the toss and we were put into bat on a good wicket (which was a surprise) and quickly lost our normally solid opener Callum Pearse early, however Tom Chapman and Connor Wheeler then saw off the opening bowlers and really started putting the bad ball away. Connor Retired first on 27 no by hitting a six in to the crowd then Woody Chapman on 26no followed by Harry Russell with an excellent 28no which really made the run rate jump up and finally Tom Chapman on 25 no who deserves a special mention for letting everyone bat around him. We finished on 153 for 1 !!!!! Amazing. The bowling was shared around the whole team and everyone contributed to keeping the run rate down with good fielding by everyone and field placement by the captain and vice captain. A great catch by Callum Pearse gave Archie Danbury a wicket and Sophie Castle got the other wicket bowled. This was a true masterclass on batting and bowling and something all the coaches were proud of everyone as they all made a difference.
