Match report The first match of the TVL season could not of gone much better for us. We won the toss and elected to bat first on what looked like a batting paradise. It turned out to be just that, skipper Patrick Allen took the record for highest score by a Purley batsman with 163, vice skipper Paul Reber notched up 79 and Raj Senniappan hit 59. We declared after 46 overs amassing another club record score of 348 for 4.
With the threat of rain looming we wanted to make some early inroads, Dominic did that with an excellent back of a length delivery. Nick and Dom bowled with excellent pace and none of the Finch batsman looked comfortable. Nick ended with 7 for 39 which was his best ever bowling figures.
Well done to the team and lets hope for the same next week!
