Match report Another away day for the 1st XI and again we lost the toss and were put in the field, and yes yet again we started short of players! 2 players stuck in traffic meant the first few overs were played with 9 men. We bowled well early on with everyone keeping a decent line and length. Wickets were hard to come by on a very flat wicket and with the outfield lightning quick it wasn't easy to restrict the scoring. After Nick Holman struck their number 3 in the head and put him in hospital Odiham picked up the rate. The 2 aussies, Shorthouse and Ringin batted well and the last 10 overs were carnage, Odiham ended up on a impressive 256 for 4 from 52 overs.
After a very pleasant tea Purley came out to bat and started positively. Allen and Woodford took the quick singles and put the bad ball away. An opening stand of 150 was ended by the overseas Ringin getting rid of Woody for an excellent 76. Allen followed soon after for 71. This left Clarky and Tanko to see us home with 5 overs to go and 8 wickets in hand. Reber brought up his fifty with a match winning boundary followed by a huge COME ON mid pitch!
