Match report Purley visited the very pleasant Eversley for their latest TVL fixture. We lost the toss and were put into the field. We started sloppy with some very lacklustre fielding. Dom and Nick bowled well and both picked up an early wicket before the spin twins came on to put Eversley in trouble. Nash returned to form with a 5 wicket haul, Eversley were bowled out in 49.1 overs for 189.
An excellent tea was had by all, special mention to the Victoria Sponge cake which was excellent.
Purleys reply started quickly with 10 off the 1st over, unfortunately Gautham was out soon after. Skipper Allen was struggling with a self inflicted injury to his ankles so running was an issue. Allen went on to score a boundary filled 50 within the first 10 overs before eventually getting caught for 51. A few wickets fell but important contributions from Lemar and Raj kept us on course. It was left down to an excellent innings from Man of the Match Nash and the average protecting Dom to see us home and record a very satisfying 20 point victory.
Again there are big improvements to be made with the fielding but another win is what matters. Lets get another win next week when we play Theale and Tilehurst at the Goosecroft!
