Match report A 12:30 start at the Goosecroft saw the Potters up against 3rd place Reading 3's, Potters skipper Allen won the toss on a good looking track and had no hesitation in batting first. It didn't start well with Gautham and the skipper going with only 16 on the board! In form Rackers and Reebs put together a decent little partnership before Reebs was caught in the slips for 13. Big Al and Rackers then combined brilliantly to put on a 100+ stand to put us back in control. Rackers again top scored with 78, the innings ending on 204 for 9 with the last ball of our innings being deposited over the boundary for 6 by Chatters.
The Potters opening bowlers Nick and Caleb started excellently and backed up by some alert fielding we soon had Reading in big trouble. We reduced them to 9 for 4 with Hovis taking the stump out on 2 occasions! Some inspired fielding from Reebs then left them 11 for 5, fielding at short mid wicket he picked the ball up, span and threw down the stumps to leave the Reading skipper short of his ground at the non-strikers end. Reebs proceeded to celebrate with a couple of laps of the square! More excellent bowling and good catching meant regular wickets continued to come, it was eventually all over after 24.2 overs with Dom bowling their number 11.
An excellent win for the Potters and probably our best bowling and fielding display of the season. Same again next week!!!
