Match report Bad toss to lose as Burnham plundered 303 for 4 of 45 overs on Martin and Lewies Purley road.The bowlers worked hard with Andrew Bailey unlucky in his opening spell and Cyril bowling 19 overs for his 2 wickets,backed up by a fine bit of fielding from Jack Purser to run out the impressive opener for Burnham.
In reply Purley started badly losing Kevin Denton and Chris Rackley with only 11 on the board.Skipper Peter Rackley stood defiant at one end taking 127 balls to score 49,backed up superbly by Gavin Raw 34,Jack Purser 16 and Steve Purser 14,keeping Burnham at bay.After the skipper departed it left to Andrew Bailey 17 and mridul Mather 15 not out to bat out the 55 overs for a draw ably supported by a very nervous looking Barry Carter who wore the tarmac thin pacing up and down outside the dressing room before his innings.Purley were pleased to hold out for a draw against a very strong Burnham side.
