Match report Purley 2nds gained their first away win of the season with a brillant 6 wicket win.Purley won the toss and inserted Princes Risborough in cloudy and damp conditions,but the bowling attack didn't get of to the best of starts as PR raced to 42 before they lost their first wicket.But Purley fought back supurbly
reducing PR TO 129 FOR 7, before an 8th wicket stand of 54 held up Purley,PR eventually made 213 for 8 in their 52 overs.Vikram Kamath bowled outstandingly with 3 for 60 in his 20 overs backed by the evergreen Cyril Cox taking 4 for 61 of 20 overs,14 year old Robbie Jeffery fought back well with a fine 2nd spell of bowling in only his 2nd TVL game.Purley had to score over 200 for the first time this season to win and of got to a great start with Peter Rackley and Kevin Denton putting on 128 for the first wicket.Rackley fell for 39 but Denton contiuned on his merry way scoring a supurb 128 not out to secure a fine 6 wicket win for Purley 2nds,special mention for 16 year old Jack Purser who backed Kevin up well towards the end of the Purley innings with a quickfire 19 runs.
A brillant win over PR 1st team with the Purley team containing 6 players who were playing 3rd team cricket last season,hopefully more of the same next week.
