Match report Purley 2nds slipped to a disappointing 111 run defeat at leaders Stoke Green,
in a game effected by intermittent showers.Purley won the toss and inserted Stoke green and started brillantly removing the openers in the first two overs
with keeper Chris Rackley taking catches of Alex clough and Andrew Bailey.But
Stoke Green's attacking style paid of as they regularly hit boundaries inbetween some rash strokes on there way to 210 all out.Seamers Clough,Bailey
and Vikram Kamath all bowled well each taking 3 wickets a piece and were backed
up well in the field with execlent catching and a fine Jack Purser run out,just a couple of dropped catches in the middle of the innings proved costly.Purley's reply was delayed by rain after tea and although they looked comfortable at the begining of there innings they regularly lost wickets and the tail crumbled weakly against a rampant Stoke Green attack.The highlight being a brisk 35 from Gavin Raw who like opener Peter Rackley was bowled when the ball kept very low,
but generally poor shot selection proved Purley's downfall.Hopefully this was
just a blip and won't happen again.
