Match report Purley 2nds were held to a draw at home by Princes Risborough,unable to bowl out there stubborn opponents.Purley won the toss and batted first and got of to a flyer with Peter Rackley(33) and Kevin Denton(39)putting on 75 for the 1st wicket.But when both openers went a mini collapse occured and Purley slumped to 115 for 5,the innings was held together by Chris Rackley with a very mature 50,backed up superbly by the lively Steve Purser (30).Cameo's from Robbie Jeffery(9),Alex Clough(10) and Dave Linclon 8 n/o made sure Purley passed the 200 mark and gained full batting points,finally posting 217 for 9.
Purley started with the old ball and nicked an early wicket through Cyril Cox,but suffered a blow when Alex Clough pulled up after one over with the new ball with a recurring ankle problem.It was left to Dave Linclon,Robbie Jeffery and Raj Senniappen to try to bowl out Princes Risborough out.14 year old Robbie bowled two execlent fast spells for his 2 wickets,Dave was unlucky not to bag more than his 3 wickets with another superb display and Raj bagged their skipper to make up for his golden duck earlier in the day.Purley have a big fight on there hands trying to stay in this league,after this result they
find themselves only 4 points of the bottom 2 with 5 games left,in a very competitive league.
