Match report A massive win for the 2nds away at Bagshot 2nds,lifting them to 4th in the table.Purley had another debutant in 14 year old spin king George (nev) Clarke,as skipper Pete Rackley lost the toss again and Purley were asked to
bat.Purley got of to a disastrous start losing Rackley,Khan Azad and Gavin Raw for 10,but the recovery was started by Dave Lincoln (18) and Jack Purser(14).
Steve Purser entered the fray and a patient but brillant (49) followed backed up superly by young wickie
Andrew Clarke(18).As Clarke departed out strolled youngster Robbie Jeffery to produced the innings of the day an outstanding 53,4 sixes 4 fours,with his fifty coming of thirty balls.Purley were all out for 172 to give themselves a fighting chance.Purley opened with the old ball,with George Clarke and Cyril Cox,veteran Cox taking a wicket in his 2nd over and Clarke bowling well on his TVL debut.Khan entered the attack in place of Clarke to take the important wicket of opener G Young for (20),wih Dave Lincoln and Robbie Jeffery bowling
tightly.With Bagshot edging towards victory George Clarke was brought back into the attack and repayed his skipper's faith with 2 wickets in his first over back
and finished with 2 for 26 in his 9 overs.Andrew Bailey took the wicket of Cave(56) who had looked like he was taking the game away from Purley,but quicks Jeffery (1 wicket) and Lincoln(3 wickets) were brought back to bowl Purley to victory with 3 runs to spare.A supurb team display from Purley to earn their first 25 point haul of the season and even more pleasing to see the youngsters have such an impact on the game,long may it contiune.
