Match report A disappointing day as the rain ruined a potentially fantastic game. They won the toss and on a dampish pitch put us in. We started really well and an opening partnership of 44 between Khan (33) and Steve (19) put them on the backfoot early. Pahi (21) came in at number 3 and kept the momentum until the only controversy. Khan hit a full toss in the air and I called a no-ball at square leg umpire but was told that it is now the bowler's end umpire's decision and he did not agree it was a no ball, so Khan had to go. However, Pat (27) continued the momentum until he was out at 123-5. I came in and with Andrew Clarke we put on 81 to take the score to 204. Both Andrew and I scored 45. Four quick wickets fell and it left the last wicket partnership of veterans Meash and Barry to show their class and experience. Meash (20no) hitting 18 runs off the last over to take us to a great 231-9. They started their innings well and we picked up one wicket in the 8th over with a nice catch by yours truly off Harry Bell. However, after 10 overs with them on 55-1 the heavens opened and we went off. After a wait of an hour we decided that no further play was possible and the match abandoned. A great shame as it had the makings of another exciting game.
