Match report Another fantastic win for the 3rds. They say "catches win matches" and this was proved today. Bradfield won the toss and put us in. We batted poorly on a pitch that was difficult to bat on early on. Only Pahi (31) and Andrew Clarke (42no) looked comfortable as we were bowled out for 124. This was way short and we needed to bowl and field superbly to pull off a win. Harry took a wicket in his first over but they then settled down and were looking comfortable at 35-3 and then 70-4. The boys catching and fielding then came into play with two good run-outs, two good catches at mid-on by Harry, a stumping from Andrew off Khan's bowling, and then Jamie Elliott's bowling! Jamie started with two "beamers" in his first over, but then backed up by two great catches from Pat and Pahi he had figues of 4-1-6-4. We bowled them all out for 99, to win by 25 runs. A fantastic effort from my team, all round, and shows that fielding and catching are sometimes just as important as excellent bowling and batting.
