Match report We came up against a very strong and powerful hitting Welford Park side and were well beaten. However, considering we were a little light on bowling, and were giving Saturday debuts to two 13 year olds, I could not be more prouder with the effort and commitment given to me today. I put them into bat, and if a couple of crucial catches were taken off both the batsmen that made 50's when they were not in double figures we could have reduced their score to a more gettable total than 247. Pahi (2-62 off 13), and Tom Russell (3-36 off 7) were the pick of our bowlers, although a special mention to 13 year old James Denton who bowled 5 overs and took 1-23, and bowled really well. We batted and I carried on from last week, but unfortunately no-one else could get going. When I got caught for 58, and the score on 106 we then lost 4 wickets for 9 runs. Youngsters Tom Russell (6no) and Sam Woodhouse (6) stayed around for 9 overs and were looking to bat out for a draw. It wasn't to be and we were bowled out for 130 in the 32nd over. A good effort and we are now looking forward to playing the top of the table side next week!!
