Match report Every game gets better and better for the Badgers this year. Todays game was testament to how hard they have been working at training sessions on Wednesdays and match practice on Saturdays. We bowled really well and restricted the main Reading side to 112 (par should be 120-150) with great bowling by everyone especiall Luke Fifield 3 wickets for 14 Sage Peppiatt and Jude Beebee with 3 overs each for 9 runs and a magnificent spell by Daniel Airey into a strong head wind with 3 over for 14. Batting was slowed by a couple of run outs which hurt us at the start but Luke Fifield kept the run rate up and eventually retired on 27, a brilliant innings but we struggled then to maintain the run rate and ended 31 runs short. However we did pick up 5 points for our batting and bowling which is a great achievement and I'm looking forward to the next game to show what lessons we have learnt from this one. Remember it doesnt feel good when you lose but it's important to learn from it so we will be stronger in the next game, well done Purley and Whitchurch Badgers.
