Match report Another good performance to make it two league wins out of two. Connor lost the toss and they chose to bat. Some very good early bowling from Connor (2-6), Janes Denton and Callum Pearse (1-4) had them reeling at 14-4. However, a good 5th wicket partnership of 40 pushed their score along. Matt Kilford then took 3-6 in 2 overs and they were 73-9 going into the last over. Unfortunatley their one batsmen who had retired came back in and hit 24 off the last over to take their score to 96-9. He hit an impressive 56 no, with the next highest scorer in their team being 6. We bowled really well, but had a few lapses of conecentration in the field that enabled them to get 15-20 runs more than they should have. However, a very gettable target if we batted sensibly, which we did! James Denton (13) and Max Baker-Smith (13) put early scores on the board to keep up with run rate, whilst Connor held up the other end superbly. Callum (2) was run out, bringing James Mugford to the crease. James (23) and Connor (31 retired not out) then took us to within a few runs of the winning post with some excellent shots. It left Adam Khan (1 no) to hit the winning run with 20 balls still to spare. A very good victory that could have been a lot easier, but some areas to still work on and improve upon. Well done boys.
