Match report The Kites finally got under way after a frustrating start to the season with cancellations, under dark clouds and in strong winds skipper Charlie Wheeler chose to bat in order to give the opposition an intimidating run chase and it proved to be the right decision.

The opening batsmen saw off the new ball bowlers to great effect leaving the middle order to pick up runs with Rushton, Honeyman and Wheeler all picking up boundaries as we set about amassing a healthy total of 269 for the loss of only two wickets.

That total was too much for West Ilsley to overcome as opening bowlers Honeyman and Wheeler bowled tight overs with Honeyman picking up an important wicket. Indeed wickets continued to fall throughout thanks to extremely impressive bowling from all with wickets shared between Kennedy, Close, Rushton, Brooker and Isaac Danbury leaving West Ilsley on 213 for 9 at the close.

All in all a very impressive performance but one which can certainly be improved on too. Well done Kites.
