Match report Purley beat Shinfield in Gary Brookers debut as the mid-week captain by 44 runs.
Gary won the toss and selected to bat, after an early scare losing RamEsh for 8 Purley soon got stuck in with Paul Reber not out for 70 runs, he was backed up well by Callum Wood who had his first taste of opening (14) and Keiran Barrett (5) and of course i sent the main man in after blooding some of the youth and Pat chipped in a nice 19

So Shinfield bat and it soon became apparent that Gary Brookers captancy skillls were to much for the opposition, placing perfect field positions for young Robert Clarke to take a brilliant catch from the pace of Julian Fernando,
this obviously put Shinfield under severe pressure and the "SKIPPER" elected to give George Clarke a go and he responded bowling out two of their main men . It was then left for Julian and Pat to take a wicket and the ever green Barry Carter to nick a couple with some pretty good stuff from two overs.

Yes it was a real good night for all and after the win we shuffled down to the local to enjoy a swift half ?????????

After a real hard think today I have decided that although Rebes made a good 70 the man of the match was the captain, Gary Brooker, for his outstanding batting , bowling and field placings.
