Match report After they won the toss and elected to field, Donnington quickly made inroads into the Purley batting. By the 20th over Purley were 40 for 5 and with debutant Conner Farmery on his way to the crease things were looking decidedly dodgey. However, with the far more experienced Andy Stephens with him they slowly built a partnership and by the 39th over when Conner was finally out for a brilliant knock of 41 they had put on 110 for the sixth wicket. Andy was out in the last over for 65 as Purley finished on a respectable and potentially challenging total of 163 for 7 after 40 overs. Donnington set about their reply steadily but were rocked as Jordan Rowland produced a devastating spell as he took two wickets in three balls to reduce them to 27 for 2. Richard Dando reached his 50 off only 45 balls before he was magnificiently caught one handed by a diving Kieran Barrett (I found it hard to believe too!) off the bowling of Pete Rackley (I found that even more hard to believe!) for 85. There was a moment of controversy that saw the Donnington captain apparently bowled first ball but our joy was shortlived as both umpires failed to see the ball hit the stumps. Donnington reached their target of 164 with 6 wickets and 8 overs to spare.
