Match report WHAT A GAME!!!
Wraysbury won the toss and inserted Purley on what looked a good track. It all started well for the Potters with Allen and Measham putting on 38 for the 1st wicket. The good start quickly subsided as we were reduced to 71 for 5 with the Wraysbury bowlers doing a great job. Clark (43) and Nash (28) then steadied the ship and with more useful contributions from Fernando (29) and Holman (14*) we ended up on 203 for 9 from 40 overs.
The Wraysbury reply started with a bang, their openers hammered us all over the Goosecroft. The score was approaching 80 after 8 overs! The introduction of Nash then changed the game. The Wraysbury line up struggled with pace off the ball, Nash finished with 4 for 22 and Allen 3 for 17. There were a number of dropped chances including skipper Reber shelling one in the outfield (the Reber temper erupted soon after!). In the end Dan Clark took the final wicket with a great catch from Dominic.
Great win and we now move on to face Pickneys Green in the Regional Semi Final on May 29th at their ground.
