Match report The Potters entertained Hillingdon Manor at the Goosecroft on a beautiful afternoon. The pitch was a belter so the toss was an important one. Unfortunately the Potters skipper was on the wrong end of the toss again and that meant we were put into the field.
We started well bowling tidily but a few boundaries got away on a quick outfield. Caleb made the early breakthroughs followed by Nick to leave Hillingdon in trouble. More quick wickets put the visitors in further trouble. Excellent bowling from Rahu Thava was the main catalyst for the middle order collapse. Some late order hitting boosted the Hillingdon total before Alex Clough took the last wicket caught by keeper Chris Rackley. Special mention for Rackers who completed 5 dismissals in the innings to earn himself a Baggy Blue!
The Purley reply started well with 12 from the first over. Then Alan and Rackers fell which led to Reber coming to the crease. Reebs and the skipper stayed there for the duration of the innings, they punished the bad bowling and knocked the runs off in the 32nd over. Skipper Allen registered 110 not out and Reebs 54 not out.
Great win by the lads, more of the same next week at Chalfont St Peter!
