Match report The Potters entertained Chalfont St Peter in the lastest TVL encounter of the season. The ground had dried out well after a heavy shower in the morning. Chalfont called correctly at the toss and elected to bowl first.
The Potters started well with the skipper and Amit putting on 55 for the 1st wicket. The skipper then fell and then once the spinners came into the attack the run rate slowed. Some useful contributions from Alan and Chris Priestley helped boost the total - Purley finishing on 172 for 8 from their 52 overs. Special mention to Amit for a well made 67.
After a very nice tea Purley took the field, choosing to keep the old ball. Cyril Cox bowled tidily starting with 3 maidens and an early wicket. Some good batting from the Chalfont batsman led to the new ball being taken. Dom and Caleb bowled excellently to halt the scoring. Some more tight bowling from Rahu and Amit meant Chalfont were always behind the rate. In the end Chalfont blocked out the last few overs with the game ending a draw after the Potters were unable to get the final 2 wickets. Great bowling from Amit and Caleb picking up 3 wickets each.
A good performance by the boys, a useful 10 point collected.
