Match report The Potters ended the 2012 Division 3a season with a comprehensive victory over Henley 3's. On a gorgeous day at the Goosecroft the skipper won the toss and chose to bat first on a belting looking wicket. Rahu was promoted to open the innings alongside the in form Amit. After a crisp cover drive for 4 Rahu then fell gloving a lifting delivery into the slips. Amit continued to play well with Reebs. Amit fell for a well made 50. The skipper arrived at the crease and started to attack straight away. The skipper and vice skipper batted for 21 overs recording a 181 run partnership. The skipper scoring 109 and Reebs 103 not out. Alan came in towards the end of the innings and continued the free scoring with a not out 21.
The Potters innings was eventually declared in the 48th over with us 302 for 3!
The Potters took the field after tea and the opening bowlers started well. Caleb took 3 wickets in an over. All the bowlers bowled impressively, in all 8 bowlers were used. There was some sloppy fielding with a number of players dropping catches (including the skipper). We bowled Henley out for 178 in 42.1 overs to record a 25 point win.
A great win by the boys and a good season as well. It was our first year in Division 3a after promotion from 4b last year. We threatened at one point to be in the promotion race but a few poor results along the way meant we were not quite in the hunt. 4th place is a good effort and leaves us room to build for next season!!!
