Match report Purley 2nds gained a valuable 12 points in their away league game at Chesham 3 played at Chartridge cc.Purley won the toss for the first time this season and choose to bat on what proved to be a very good wicket.Another solid opening partnership of 63 got Purley of to a good start before Gautham Kamath departed for 35.But again disaster struck on 89 with Purley losing Peter Rackley(26),Chris Priestley(17) and Kieran Barrett on debut for 0,this only brought together last weeks hero's,Robbie Jeffery and Steve Purser,who saved their team again.Robbie and Steve put on 115 runs for the 5th wicket before Robbie departed LBW for 76.Steve was joined by Andrew Clarke and they put on another 32 runs with Steve 52 n/o and Clarky 16 n/o to end the innings on 236 for 5.Although the Purley bowlers and fielders worked extremely hard they struggled to make break throughs on a very good track.Andrew Bailey bowled his mixture of swing and slow deliveries to prize out to two batsman,with Robbie and Barry Carter taking a wicket apiece,Jordan Seward continues to work hard to regain his form after his long injury lay of last season.The last wicket being a run out after a surprisingly good bit of fielding from the captain leaving Chesham on 223 for 5.Turned out to be a good decision to bat first to gain full batting points on a long hot day.
