Match report Bagshot won the toss and put the 2nds in to bat on a wet track at Purley.Purley lost their first wicket in the 3rd over with Gautham Kamath caught at mid on for 2,but Peter Rackley and Chris Priestley battled threw a difficult spell to take the score to 30 before the skipper departed for 12.Kevin Denton joined Chris to put on an excellent 94 for the 3rd wicket until Kev departed for 38,caught at point.George Wheeler entered the fray to bludgeon his way to 72 n/o in an outstanding partnership of 117 with Chris to take Purley to 248 for 3 in 52 overs.Chris Priestley finished 107 n/o in a brillant inninngs,batting in difficult conditions,2 appearances at home and 2 centuries,an amazing effort from Chris. Andrew Clarke sat with with his pads on for nearly 20 overs again,long may it continue.Purley produced another superb all round team display in the field to dismiss Bagshot for 136.Jordan Seward and Alex Clough produced an excellent opening spell with Cloughie taking 2 early wickets,hard to believe how Jordy never took a wicket but his time will come.Andrew Bailey took over from Jordan to bowl another fine spell from the tennis court end for a change,taking 3 wickets and also 3 catches during the inninngs.George Clarke and Barry Carter both joined the party to take a wicket a piece,before Cloughie returned to take the last 3 wickets to complete a five wicket haul on his return to the 2nd team.A special mention for Clarky behind the stumps,superb display,keep up the good work.Thanks also to the team for their contiuned support of the skipper,as Purley 2nds sit top of Div 5a for the 1st time.
