Match report Purley on Thames skipper Kevin Denton won the toss and elected to bat on a strip that was deemed by the Chesham 3 skipper the best he had played on all season. Purley started well and Gautham Kamath and Kevin Denton put on 136 for the first wicket before Kevin was out for 63. Gautham fell 11 short of his second century of the season when he was caught for 89 with the score on 176. Chris Priestley and Andrew Clarke then took the score over 200 to gain maximum batting points before Andrew became the first of J,Wheeler's four wickets. Purley eventually declared on 276 for 8 off 50 overs. In reply Chesham matched the opening stand of 100 but George Clarke took a catch off Dominic Chatwin to remove Butt for 66. Young George Clarke then bowled superbly to finish with figures of 3 for 33 off 11 overs and nearly won Purley the game as he found an edge in the last over that evaded the slips. Dominic Chatwin was the other star bowler as he bowled 19 overs in a spell to end with 3 for 52. Purley gained a much needed 14 points to maintain the position in mid table.
