Match report First league game and a disappointing result. The skipper lost the toss on a very slow pitch and we were put into bat. The skipper and Kevin started well until Kevin got the worst ball bowled all day (a slow full toss) that he didn't connect properly with and was caught at mid wicket for 18, with the score on 28. The skipper quickly followed LBW to a ball that kept very low. Pahi hit a lovely 6, but thern got caught trying to repeat the shot. A collapse then followed, and we were 60-6, including Steve Dyer's retirement hurt. Two youngsters, Callum and Robert then put on 26, and looked comfortable until Robert unluckily played on. Callum remained 15no as we finished 93-9. we felt we were 40-50 runs short, and so it proved. We had them 69-5 due to some good bowling from youngsters Harry Bell (3-20) and Callum Wood (2-24), helped by a fantastic catch each from "oldies" Pat and Kirwin. We could not make another breakthrough and they completed the victory in the 28th over.
