Match report Another tremendous performance gave us our 4th maximum 35 point win in a row. I lost the toss (AGAIN!!) and they put us in. On paper we had a very strong batting line-up, but we got off to a poor start, and were 38-4. The skipper came in to join Kevin, and they steadied the ship and put on 83, before Kevin was bowled for 63. Mridul came in and hit a very rapid 29 before being caught. Callum came to the crease and helped the skipper take the score to 198, before the skipper was caught for 58. Callum then hit 15 off the last over, including a lovely 6 to end 39no, and take his season average to 130!! We posted a good score of 240-9. The rain came down during tea, and play was looking doubtful. However, after waiting 30 minutes it cleared up and allowed us to take the field. Harry bowled brilliantly for his 4-12 from 7 overs, ably backed up by Nufail (2-22). We had them 37-7 in the 13th over before they had two batsmen that "shut up shop". It became very frustrating, and it wasn't until the introduction of Callum 14 overs later that we got the breakthrough. Callum took the last 3 wickets to end with 3-6, and we bowled them out for 51. Callum's performance was even more remarkaqble, as he was sick during the tea break, and has not been well for a few days. As an 18 year old, he is a great role model for the future Purley youngsters, as his game is improving so much playing Saturday league cricket.
