Match report On a pitch that resembled quicksand the Moulsford captain won the toss and elected to field. Pete Rackley and James Measham navigated the quicksand where they had to almost dig the ball out of the wicket as it kept so low for almost 11 overs before James was bowled for 24 with the score on 41. A mini collapse saw George Wheeler and Dan Barclay dismissed cheaply for 1 and 3 respectively. Pahi and jeff Hinds kept Pete company at the crease and when Pahi was out it was 98 for 4. Pete got to his 50 with a lusty blow for 4 and then repeated the feat twice more in succession, he was eventually bowled for 60. Robert Clarke entered the fray and hit a couple of good 4's on his way to 11. Sam Woodhouse and Harry Bell both went cheaply, Harry to a brilliant catch (although not sure how much he knew about it) by Adrian Allen. That brought the skipper, Barry Carter to the crease and two "fine" shots befitting the pitch for 4 and 6 finally took the Purley total to 161 for 9 off 35 overs. The Moulsford skipper opted for the heavy roller at tea but they were soon in trouble as Harry Bell bowled the opener for a duck. George Wheeler got the all important wicket of Ben Ralphs with a ball that kept low wihich forced Ben to drag it on to his stumps and from there on it was a matter of time. George Wheeler ended with three wickets and Barry finished a good day also with three wickets. George 'Nev' Clarke finally got into rhythm in the last over he bowled and ended with 2 for 24. At nine down and the skies darkening it was a race against time but as the heavens opened the chance of any further play diminished and hands were shook with Moulsford 71 for 9 off 22 overs and Purley had been deemed victors.
