Match report
Purley on Thames Sunday 2nds entertained a Goring XI at the Goosecroft on Sunday. Purley won the toss and elected to bat and that decision was vindicated as Max Baker-Smith and George Wheeler putting on 206 for the opening wicket. George was finally out for 104. The two youngsters of Max and Robert Clarke moved the total along to 254 before Max was caught for 83, his highest score. Conner Farmery scored a quick fire 26. Robert Clarke remained unbeaten on 44 as Purley finished on 264 for 3 off 35 overs. In reply Goring were never really in the hunt and when Andrew Clarke entered the attack and claimed three quick wickets the writing was on the wall. Conner Farmery finished the game with three wickets in 7 balls as Purley won by 141 runs.
