Match report I finished as the season started by losing the toss. Aldermaston elected to field on an overcast day. Conner and I opened the batting with me taking the first over and despite a few hairy moments I survived it. Conner was out in the second over for 0 which brought Chris Rackley to the crease and with my confidence increasing and hangover decreasing by the minute I hit a couple of fours and some 18 overs later I had beaten my highest batting score of 26 replacing it with 28, however concentration was lost briefly and I was out next ball LBW to one that turned sharply. Chris Rackley went onto make his 50 but was bowled by Whitelock for 60. Arham Syed entered the fray and lusty blow for 4 was followed by a top edge and he was out for 6. Paul Reber and Jeff Hinds put on 70 for the fifth wicket before Paul was out for 79 going for one too many straight drives. Purley finally finished on 215 for 6 from their 35 overs. Aldermaston started well but by the time Sam Woodhouse had clung onto a diving catch at slip (his third catch of the innings) to remove Mark Vincent the game was effectively over. Chris Rackley produced a seasons best bowling of 2 for 8 from 4 overs and Patrick Allen was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 17 from 7. In the end it was Sam Woodhouse who wrapped up the match as he finished with 1 for 5 from 2 overs to leave Aldermaston 113 all out from 29.3 overs. A good end to the season, thanks to all who have played and here's to 2013.
