CardKey v Purley on Thames CC Midweek on Tue 24 Jul 2012 at 18:00
Purley on Thames CC Won by 172 runs
Match report
Two fantastic innings from Patrick Allen and Chris Priestley built a massive total that was never in target for Cardkey. Patrick hit four sixes in his 77 not out and Chris one in his 75 not out. In reply Cardkey got off to poor start and when Khan Azad held onto his fourth catch of the evening they were in desparate trouble at 35 for 6. Cyril Cox was the main bowler and he returned figures of 3 for 8. Dominic Chatwin and Alex Clough also chipped in with figures of 2 for 8 respectively and skipper Barry Carter mopped up the tail with some excellent bowling to finish with figures of 0.6 overs, 1 maiden, two wickets for 0 runs. A good performance that goes a long way to achieving promotion and all that entails.
