Match report On a warm and sunny evening, the Chairman and new skipper Gary Brooker took to the field with the Reading East captain won the toss and elected to bat. Chris Priestley and George Wheeler got off to a steady start before Chris was given out LBW for 20 with the score on 37. George and Callum Wood then added 31 more runs in five overs before he a Chris Rackley departed in the 10th over. Raj Senniappan added some fire power and quick runs before he was caught going for one big hit too many for 18. The Chairman entered the fray for 9 minutes before he was trapped LBW for 1. Purley battled hard and ended their 15 overs on 117 for 9. Reading East got off to a flyer but were lucky when George Wheeler was adjudged to have bowled a no ball as Rehan hooked him to Chris Rackley at deep mid wicket, they only started to lose wickets when deposed skipper Barry Carter was introduced into the attack as his two overs produced two wickets for four runs, one of those included a stumping by Andrew Clarke. Reading East made the 118 target with 4 overs to spare. Purley made an early exit from the cup at the hands of a team one division higher.
