Purley on Thames CC Won by 86 runs
Match report
A excellent team performance saw Purley to a commanding 86 run victory at Newbury.
Batting first, good innings by Nick Dyer (24) and Andrew Clarke (37) adding to a fine 71 from Robbie Jeffery (including a 90 run stand between Robbie Jeffery and Andrew Clarke for the 3rd wicket ) took Purley to a challenging 150 for 4 in 20 overs.
In replay Newbury struggled to score runs against the opening attack of Jeffery and Bell, the introduction of Matt Strange and Robert Clarke continued the same trend until Robert picked up the wickets of both Newbury openers in the 8th over with the score at 28. The Newbury innings collapsed with only 2 players reaching doube figures as Robert Clarke (3 for 7), Ashley Hillier (4 for 9) and Sam Woodhouse (2 for 10) ran through the batting with Newbury closing all out for 64 in the 19th over.
